We use the Jewish traditional dates for the Creation
and the Exodus for the sake of obeying the commandment, "To the Jew first," (Rom. 2:10). This does not mean that
these dates are accurate. It simply means that God has providentially allowed such
dates to become entrenched as tradition over many centuries for the expressed purpose of revealing
Yeshua as Messiah.
In Jewish tradition, Tishri 1 (Oct), 3761 BC is the Creation of the
world, and 1313 BC (April) is the Exodus.
The Pattern from the
Creation
(In this document, we will not labor
to show the thematic parallels, only the numerical ones.
The book of Revelation uses the
number 1260 in relationship to both the birth and death of Yeshua.
"And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;
and she was the child; and she crieth out, travailing in birth, and in pain to be delivered.
And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems.
And his tail draweth the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon standeth before the woman that is about to be delivered, that when she is delivered he may devour her child.
And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne.
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her
a thousand two hundred and threescore days," (i.e.,
1260 days) (Revelation 12:1-6).
In the following table, both 1260 days and years are used together.
3761 BC (Jewish date of Creation) + 1260 x 3 years and days = AD 30 (death of Messiah).
"AD 30" is held by most
scholars; some hold to AD 33, thereby making AD 30 the start of His ministry
Calculation Notes
3761 BC +
1260 x 3
years = year beginning AD 19
(Tishri/Sept.) to year ending AD 20 (Sept.),
+ 1260 x 3 days (i.e., 10½ years) = AD 30, (i.e.,
death of Messiah, Nisan 14).
Note: Messiah's ministry was approx.
1260 days
long (3½ years).
In the next table, the 1260 x 3 years
(126 months) to Christ's death is now repeated, except this time using the lunar calendar,
(also without intercalary months).
This time, instead of coming to AD
30, it will be 30 BC---the mirror
of AD.
126 lunar months = 3½ years x 3, (42 months x 3),
126 lunar months x 29.53 days (in a month) = 3,720.9 days
(i.e., 3,721 days)
3761 BC less 3,721 years = 41 BC,
less 3,721 days = 30 BC, thus repeating the actual
year of His death, except in the mirror!
The Pattern from the Exodus
According to Jewish tradition, the
Exodus from Egypt occurred in 1313 BC.
The prophet Daniel spoke of a period of time similar
to the 1260 already mentioned. They were the numbers 1290 and 1335. Both these numbers are variations
of 3½-years. These bible numbers may be taken inclusively or exclusively. Together (exclusively
reckoned), 1290 plus 1335 days total a little over 7 years. In
the following table, once again, one day can
symbolize one year.
"And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be
taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand
two hundred and ninety days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the
thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. But go thou thy way
till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the
days." (Daniel 12:11-13)
1313 BC plus
1290 + 1335 years = AD
1313
1313 BC + 1290 years = 23 BC, (less 7-years = 30 BC. Yeshua ministry was between AD 26 and 30).
1313 BC
+ 1335 years = AD 23
, (plus 7-years = AD 30 .
Yeshua ministry was
between AD 26 and 30).
Therefore, 1313 BC
plus 1290 + 1335 years = AD
1313.
(Also,
compare 1313 BC, plus 1290 x
2 years, etc, with the following chart.)
As said, according to Jewish tradition,
the Exodus from Egypt occurred in 1313 BC. Hence, the 6½-year conquest of
Canaan occurring 40 years later, was in 1273 to 1267 BC.
There are 1,240 days in a lunar
3½-year period without a leap month
adjustment. Adjusted, it is either 1270 or
1299 days. Notice the following:
1273 to 1267 BC, plus 1,240 years
= 33 to 27 BC (mirror of
ministry of Messiah, etc.)
1273 to 1267 BC,
plus 1,270 years = 3 BC to AD 4 (birth and
mirror of birth of Messiah, etc.)
1273 to 1267 BC,
plus 1,299 years = AD
27 to 33 (ministry of Messiah, etc.)
By the way, from the Exodus of 1313 BC to the Messiah Yeshua are exactly 490,000 days (i.e.,
Daniel 9:24). That is, from
the end of the 80 days of Moses up the mountain to receive the law, unto the
(jubilee) New Year (Nisan 1) of Christ's resurrection year in AD 30, are
490,000 days. ("A day is as a 1000 years," Ps.
90:4; 2Pet. 3:8.) Moreover, according to 'Christian'tradition,
this is also the very same date when Messiah BEGAN His ministry as well!
